Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

Note (August 17, 2026): Four rules got fairer and one dead link got replaced. Top-ups: spending part of your balance no longer makes the rest non-refundable — within 14 days you may withdraw from a top-up and we return the funded balance you have not yet spent (§3.3). Withdrawal: §3.1 used to say that activating a purchase ends your 14-day right. It does not. The law lets a trader end that right only after asking you expressly to begin immediately, having you acknowledge what that costs you, and sending you a confirmation of the contract to keep — and we do none of those three today, so the right survives activation and we honour it. §3.2 moved with it: withdrawing from a monthly add-on you have only just started now refunds the fee in full, because the pro-rata deduction we used to take rests on that same request we never make. Suspension: §6 no longer forfeits your balance outright; we may hold it while we investigate, we tell you why and you can contest it, and on termination the unspent funded part comes back unless the law requires us to keep it or the money is the proceeds of the abuse itself. Refund requests: you never had to give us a reason, and §8 now says so instead of asking for one; the model withdrawal form from the Consumer Rights Directive is published in §8.1. The European Commission's ODR platform, which this page used to link to, ceased operating on 20 July 2025 — §9 replaces it with routes that exist. Two things that were true but unsaid are now disclosed: the balance can only buy items priced under €5.00, and the amount shown at checkout is the whole amount charged.

Note (August 13, 2026): Rewritten for the pricing model that has been live since July 2026. The tiers are one-time purchases, not subscriptions, so the old subscription-first framing described a product we do not sell; cancellation and renewal now appear where they actually apply, on the monthly add-ons. Amounts are in euro, the only currency the Service charges in. The top-up bonus programme and its refund rule are set out in full, and a section on billing disputes has been added.

This policy explains when you can get your money back, and how. It covers one-time purchases, the monthly add-ons, and your account balance. Nothing here limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

1. What you bought, and what that means for refunds

  • One-time purchases — the Eternal tier, the Dynamic upgrade, and the one-time feature add-ons (password protection, custom slug, device routing, geo routing). There is nothing to cancel: you paid once and the entitlement is yours. Refunds are governed by Section 3.
  • Monthly add-ons — advanced analytics, retargeting pixel, scan alerts, link health check, UTM tracking, lead capture, webhooks, file hosting, custom domain, bulk generation, team seats, API access, and the bundles that combine them. These renew monthly until you cancel; Section 2 applies.
  • Account balance — prepaid credit spendable only inside EQR. Section 4 applies.

Currency and total price: prices are denominated in EUR. Whatever amount checkout displays is the amount we charge — we add nothing on top of it there: no separate tax line, no service fee, no surcharge of ours. If your card is not a euro card, our payment processor may offer you the price converted into your own currency at its own rate; the converted figure is then the one checkout displays, and it is still the whole of what you are charged. Your own card issuer may apply a cross-border or conversion fee of its own on top of that; that one is between you and your issuer.

2. Cancelling a monthly add-on

  • Self-service: open Billing → Monthly add-ons in your dashboard and press Cancel next to the add-on. You do not have to email us and we do not ask you why.
  • Access until the period ends: cancelling stops the next renewal. The feature stays switched on until the end of the month you have already paid for, and the row then shows the date it ends on.
  • No pro-rata refund: we do not refund the unused days of a month that has already started. Withdrawing from an add-on you have only just started is a different thing, and Section 3.2 covers it.
  • One-time purchases are unaffected by cancelling an add-on. Your Eternal codes, Dynamic upgrades and one-time add-ons remain yours.

3. EU/EEA consumer right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have a legal right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days of the transaction, without giving a reason.

3.1. One-time purchases

You may withdraw within 14 days, and we refund the purchase in full.

Activating a purchase does not currently cost you that right. The law does let a trader end the withdrawal right for digital content once performance has begun — but only where three things are true together: the customer has expressly asked for performance to start immediately, has acknowledged that asking costs them the right, and has been given a confirmation of the contract on a durable medium — a copy they keep — recording both (Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m), read with Art. 8(7)). We do none of the three today: checkout asks you for neither of the first two, and Section 5 explains that we do not send the confirmation either. So we do not treat the right as ended: if you anchor an Eternal code, apply a Dynamic upgrade or switch on a one-time add-on and then withdraw within 14 days, you get your money back.

If we later add a control that asks you expressly to begin immediately and to acknowledge the consequence, and we send you a confirmation of the contract to keep, then for purchases made through that control the right will end once we have performed. All three have to be in place — two out of three leaves your right intact — and this policy will be updated to describe it before that happens, not after.

For Eternal specifically: anchoring writes an encrypted record to a public blockchain, which is technically irreversible. A refund returns your money; it cannot delete the on-chain record. That is a fact about the blockchain, not a limit on your refund.

3.2. Monthly add-ons

You may withdraw from a newly started monthly add-on within 14 days, and we refund the fee in full. We do not deduct a pro-rata amount for the days you had access, for the same reason as in Section 3.1: a deduction of that kind is only available to a trader who asked the customer to begin during the withdrawal period and told them what it would cost, and we do not ask. Cancelling a subscription you have had for a while is not withdrawal — that is Section 2.

3.3. Balance top-ups

Within 14 days of a top-up you may withdraw from it and get back the part of your funded balance that you have not yet spent. Spending some of it does not cost you the rest: if you top up €150.00 and then spend €1.99, you may withdraw and we return €148.01.

We can offer this because it does not depend on knowing which top-up a purchase came from. It depends on what your funded balance is right now, which is a number we do have. What you have already spent is not returned as balance — that money bought something, and the purchase it bought is governed by Section 3.1.

4. Account balance and the Top-up Bonus Programme

  • The minimum top-up is €5.00 per transaction; the maximum is €150.00 per transaction. The funded part of your balance is capped at €150.00; a top-up that would exceed the cap is declined before you pay. If two top-ups are in flight at once and only together do they cross the cap — a case the first check cannot see, because neither has been paid yet — the second is not credited and we refund it to your card in full. You are never left holding a balance above the cap, and never charged for one.
  • What the balance can buy: items priced under €5.00 each. Anything costing €5.00 or more — today the Eternal tier is the only one-time item priced that high — is paid by card at checkout and cannot be taken from your balance. Everything else on the one-time list, the Dynamic upgrade included, is priced under €5.00 and can be paid from your balance or by card, as you prefer. This is enforced on our server, not only in the interface.
  • The balance is closed-loop: spendable only on EQR services, non-transferable, with no cash value. It cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash.

Top-up Bonus Programme. Available to all registered EQR users eligible to purchase account balance; it has no scheduled end date. Paid and bonus credits form a single EQR account balance and may be used only to purchase EQR services. Bonus credits do not expire, are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash. If a top-up is refunded — in whole or in part under Section 3.3 — we return money only, never bonus credit, and the bonus credits granted with that top-up are removed to the extent they are still in your balance. Bonus credits sit on top of the €150.00 cap and do not count toward it.

We do not track which individual top-up a purchase was paid from, and deliberately do not: the balance is one pool. The refund rule in Section 3.3 is written so that it never needs to know.

5. Digital fulfilment and anchoring failures

Purchases activate immediately after Stripe confirms payment, through our server-side webhook. Anchoring an Eternal code then happens asynchronously: the code shows Pending until the Base transaction is Confirmed. If anchoring is not confirmed within 24 hours of activation, we restore the Eternal anchor slot to your account automatically and email you to say we have done it — you do not have to ask. If you would rather have your money back than the restored slot, write to support@eqr.link within 30 days of that email and we refund that purchase instead. Full detail is in the Terms of Service, §6.4.

Your record of the purchase. What you get today is your billing dashboard: a transaction history listing every top-up and every purchase paid from your balance, with its date, description and amount, and a monthly add-ons list showing each add-on's price and the date it next bills. A one-time item paid by card does not yet get a priced line of its own there — for those, the record you hold yourself is Stripe's own receipt for the card payment, where Stripe sends one. We do not send an order-confirmation email, and we are not going to write a clause here pretending that we do. Section 6.4 of the Terms of Service says the same thing at greater length.

6. Accounts suspended for abuse

To protect our platform and the people who scan our codes, we enforce an Acceptable Use Policy. If we suspend or terminate an account under it — for phishing links, malware, scams or wallet-drainers, among others — this is what happens to money:

  • While we investigate, we may suspend the account and hold the balance where it is. You cannot spend it, and we have not taken it.
  • We tell you the reason, unless a law forbids us from telling you, and you can contest the decision by writing to support@eqr.link. A person reads it and answers.
  • On termination we return the unspent funded part of your balance — the money you actually paid us. We keep it only where a law or a competent authority requires us to withhold it, or where the balance is itself the proceeds of the abuse (topped up with a stolen card, for example).
  • Bonus credit is not returned. It was granted by us, never paid by you, and it has no cash value.
  • One-time purchases and monthly add-on fees are not refunded on termination for abuse, beyond what mandatory consumer law requires.

This does not affect rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

7. Billing disputes

Raise a billing problem with us before disputing it with your bank — it is faster, and we can fix the cause rather than only the charge. We acknowledge within 5 business days and resolve verified billing errors within 15 business days, extendable to 35 business days in complex cases. Approved refunds go to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. The full procedure, and the evidence we retain if a card dispute is opened, is in the Terms of Service, §6.5.

8. How to withdraw, or ask for a refund

You do not have to give a reason, and you do not have to use a particular form. Any clear statement that you are withdrawing is enough — an email saying "I withdraw from my order of 3 August" does it.

Write to support@eqr.link from or quoting your account email address, and include the transaction date and transaction ID if you have them — they save a round trip, they are not a condition. Telling us why is optional and always welcome: it is how we find out what went wrong, not a hurdle you have to clear to get your money back. We reply within 2 business days; see Support & Contact for our hours.

When the money comes back. On a withdrawal we reimburse you without undue delay, and in any event within 14 days of the day you tell us, using the same payment method you paid with (Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 13(1)). That is our deadline for sending the money; how long your bank then takes to show it is the bank's. The longer windows in Section 7 belong to billing disputes and do not apply to a withdrawal.

8.1. Model withdrawal form

You may use this form, but you do not have to. It is the model withdrawal form from Annex I(B) of Directive 2011/83/EU, filled in with our details.

9. If we cannot settle it between us

The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform, which earlier versions of this page linked to, ceased operating on 20 July 2025 and the Regulation behind it has been repealed. If you were sent there by an older copy of this document, these are the routes that work now:

  • In Greece: the Consumer's Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή), an independent authority and a certified alternative dispute resolution entity — https://www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr/en.
  • Resident in another EU or EEA country: the European Consumer Centres Network, which handles cross-border complaints against traders established in another member state — https://www.eccnet.eu.

You can also complain to the consumer protection authority where you live. We have not committed ourselves to any alternative dispute resolution body and no law obliges us to, so naming these routes tells you where to go — it is not a promise that we will take part in a procedure there. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.
