Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

Note (August 17, 2026): This revision is about consumers, and most of it gives ground rather than taking it. §9 no longer sends you to Athens if you are a consumer: you may sue us in the courts where you live, we may sue you only there, and choosing Greek law does not take away the mandatory protections of your own country. §8 carves consumers out of both the exclusions and the liability cap: for death or personal injury, for our own intent or gross negligence (Greek Civil Code Art. 332 does not allow either to be disclaimed in advance, and the old clause read as though it did), and for any mandatory statutory right. §6.2 and §6.3 stop treating one purchase as forfeiting a whole top-up: within 14 days you may withdraw and get back the funded balance you have not spent. §4 stops treating suspension as forfeiture: we may hold a balance while we investigate, we tell you why, you can contest it, and on termination the unspent funded part is returned unless a law requires otherwise or the money is the proceeds of the abuse — §6 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy sets the same rule out in full. §4 also drops "in our sole discretion", which was doing most of the unfairness. Three things that were true but unsaid are now written down: the balance can only buy items priced under €5.00, the amount checkout displays is the whole amount we charge, and these documents exist in English only — ask and we will explain any clause in Greek. §6.4 describes the record of a purchase you actually get, which does not include a confirmation email, because we do not send one. And §6.5 no longer claims these Terms were "presented to you at checkout": what our systems record is which version was in force, so that is now all we claim. One thing was also missing outright: the Data Processing Agreement has always declared itself part of these Terms, and these Terms had never said so. §2 now incorporates it, which is what makes that declaration true and gives a business customer a way to enter into it.

Note (August 13, 2026): These Terms were brought in line with the pricing model that has been live since July 2026. Three things changed in substance: anchoring and the recovery key are stated as belonging to the paid Eternal tier only (they always did — the text was written before the tiers existed); all amounts are now in euro, which is the only currency the Service has ever charged in; and the balance top-up ceiling is €150 per transaction with a €150 cap on the funded part of your account balance. A "Not a Crypto Business" clause was added to §5, and §6 now sets out digital fulfilment, the top-up bonus programme, and how to raise a billing dispute with us. Five further changes followed. §1 and §5 now state exactly what goes on-chain — a random code identifier and the encrypted destination, nothing else — and that re-anchoring leaves the earlier value in the chain's history. §2 covers content you host with us. §3 says plainly that we do not review destination websites before they go live, and points at the checks we do run. §4 records that the Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these Terms, describes how we moderate content, and adds §4.1 on export control and sanctions. §6.4 now describes the anchoring promise the way it actually runs, and in your favour on both points: the 24-hour clock starts when you activate a code, not when you pay for it, and if the record still has not confirmed we put the anchor slot back in your account automatically rather than waiting for you to choose — you then have 30 days to take a refund instead if you would prefer one.

Note (June 13, 2026): The Encryption Keys clause (§2) was revised for accuracy — keys are derived from our master secret (server-side), not client-side, and we can restore access while the Service operates.

Language: these legal documents are published in English, and as between us and a business customer the English text is the one that governs. We sell in Greece and across the EU, and we would rather tell you plainly than let you find out: there is no Greek version of this page today. If a clause here matters to you and you would like it explained in Greek, write to support@eqr.link and we will explain it in Greek — before you buy, if you ask before you buy.

If you are a consumer, that governing-language sentence has a limit, and we would rather state it than rely on it. Greek law requires the general terms of transactions applied in the Greek market to be recorded in Greek as well (Law 2251/1994, Art. 2 §2), and we have not published a Greek text yet. Until we do, we will not rely on the English wording of a clause against a consumer who could not reasonably understand it, and the mandatory rules of the country where you live stand regardless — §9 says so.

Welcome to eqr.link ("Service"), a platform for QR codes and dynamic redirect links, with an optional paid Eternal tier whose routing record is anchored to a public blockchain. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service provided by Piaxonika Software Services SINGLE MEMBER S.A., company number 179072201000, registered office: 3is Septemvriou 144, 112 51 Athens, Greece ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").

By registering an account, making a purchase, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

The Service provides web-based tools and an edge routing network to generate QR codes and configure dynamic redirect links.

  • Tiers: A Basic code is free and hosted. The Eternal tier is a one-time purchase. The Dynamic upgrade is a separate one-time purchase that makes a code's destination editable. Individual features are sold either as one-time add-ons or as monthly subscriptions; the tiers themselves are never subscriptions.
  • Blockchain Anchoring: For paid Eternal codes, we write two values to the public, decentralized Base Layer 2 (L2) blockchain: the random identifier of the code and the encrypted form of its destination. Nothing else — no email address, account identifier, IP address, scan data or plaintext destination — is written on-chain. The transaction is signed and paid for by our own relayer wallet, so that wallet's address is public too. Basic codes are not anchored, and a Dynamic upgrade on its own does not cause anchoring.
  • Permanence: Once an Eternal routing record is written to the blockchain, it is immutable and permanently recorded there. Codes that are not Eternal rely on our hosted routing and have no on-chain record.
  • No Custody / Financial Claims: The Service does not provide custody of cryptographic assets, does not execute financial transactions other than payment for the Service, and does not provide investment or financial advice.

2. User Accounts and Content

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Account Credentials: You access the Service using Google Sign-In or magic links. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access.
  • Destination URLs: You have the ability to configure destination URLs for your QR codes. You retain ownership of and are solely responsible for any destination URLs and content you link to.
  • Hosted Content: Some features store content you supply — uploaded files, lead capture forms — on our infrastructure and serve it under our domains. You retain ownership of that content and grant us only the limited right to store, copy and transmit it in order to provide the feature. You are responsible for its accuracy, legality and safety. Hosting is ancillary to your own QR codes; what may and may not be hosted, and the limits that apply, are set out in Section 3 of the Acceptable Use Policy. A hosted file's address is unguessable but is not a permission check: anyone who has the link can open the file without signing in.
  • Data Protection, and the DPA: Where you use the Service as an organisation and we process personal data on your behalf — the scan analytics of your codes, the files you host with us, the submissions your lead forms collect — you are the controller of that data and we are your processor. Our Data Processing Agreement governs that processing and forms part of these Terms. You enter into it by accepting these Terms; nothing further is required for it to bind us, and Section 5 of that Agreement explains how to obtain a signed copy if your compliance file needs one. Where that Agreement and these Terms disagree about the processing of personal data, that Agreement prevails. How we handle your own data, and the data of people who scan your codes, is described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Encryption Keys: Your destination URLs are encrypted with a per-user key that we derive from our master secret, so we can restore your access while the Service operates. For paid Eternal codes, you may also export this recovery key and decrypt those destinations independently of us — for example, directly from the public blockchain record — and we recommend exporting and safely storing it so they remain recoverable even if the Service is discontinued. Codes that are not Eternal have no on-chain record, so there is nothing for an exported key to recover them from.

3. Third-Party Websites and Content

  • No Pre-Publication Review: The Service redirects scanners to third-party destination websites. We do not control those websites, we do not review or audit them before they go live, and we do not endorse them. We do run the narrow automated checks and the report-driven enforcement described in Section 4 of our Acceptable Use Policy, and we act on what we find — but that is not a warranty that any destination is safe. This Section is about third-party destinations; content that we store and serve ourselves is governed by Section 3 of that Policy and by our Notice & Takedown Policy.
  • Disclaimer of Liability: We are not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, services, malware, or other materials present on or available from third-party websites. Users scan QR codes and access destination websites at their own risk.

4. Prohibited Uses and Right to Suspend

To protect the integrity of the Service, we enforce a strict policy against malicious activity.

  • Prohibited Conduct: You must not configure redirect links to point to websites that engage in:
    • Phishing, social engineering, or credential harvesting.
    • Distribution of malware, spyware, viruses, or other harmful code.
    • Financial fraud, scams, or deceptive practices.
    • Impersonation of individuals, brands, or entities.
    • Spamming or bulk unsolicited messaging.
    • "Wallet-draining" scripts, smart contract exploits, or unauthorized crypto-asset authorization requests.
    • Any illegal activity or violation of applicable laws.
  • Right to Suspend: We may suspend, block, or delete any redirect link, QR code access, or user account that we determine violates these Terms or is associated with abusive or harmful behavior, and we may do so immediately and without prior notice where the harm is live — a phishing page does not get a warning period. What follows is not discretionary: we tell you the reason unless a law forbids us from telling you, and you can contest the decision by writing to support@eqr.link. Suspension is not forfeiture of your money. We may hold your account balance while we investigate, and on termination we return the unspent funded part of it, except where a law or a competent authority requires us to withhold it or where the balance is itself the proceeds of the abuse. Section 6 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy sets that out in full; content decisions and how to contest them are in the Notice & Takedown Policy.
  • Acceptable Use Policy: Our Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these Terms. It lists further prohibited content and business categories — among them gambling, adult content and services, and intellectual-property infringement — explains that some of those categories exist because our payment processor and the card networks restrict which businesses we may serve, and governs content you host with us.
  • Content Moderation: We moderate content reactively, on notice. We validate the type and structure of uploads automatically before storing them, but we do not scan them for malware and we do not use automated content matching or automated removal — decisions to remove content are taken by a person. How to notify us of unlawful content, how we handle a notice, the statement of reasons you receive if we restrict your content, and how to contest that decision are set out in the Notice & Takedown Policy. Accounts that repeatedly infringe the intellectual property rights of others are terminated under Section 6.1 of the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Abuse Reporting: Suspected violations or abusive redirect links can be reported to abuse@eqr.link.

4.1. Export Control and Sanctions

We are established in the European Union and take card payments through rails that reach the United States, so both EU and US restrictive measures bear on your use of the Service.

  • Your covenant: You will not use the Service, or export, re-export, or otherwise make it available to anyone, in breach of EU restrictive measures — including Council Regulation (EU) No 269/2014 and Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014, and any measure that amends, extends, or replaces them — or of US sanctions and export-control law administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and by the Bureau of Industry and Security under the Export Administration Regulations, or of UK sanctions, or of United Nations Security Council sanctions.
  • Your representation: Each time you use the Service you represent that you are not (a) resident or located in, or organised under the laws of, a country or territory subject to comprehensive sanctions or to territorial restrictive measures under any of the regimes named above; (b) listed on the EU Consolidated List of persons, groups, and entities subject to EU financial sanctions, on OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List, on the UK Sanctions List, or on the UN Security Council Consolidated List; (c) acting for or on behalf of any such person; or (d) owned, in aggregate, as to 50% or more, or otherwise controlled, by any such person. We do not reproduce the current scope of those regimes here: it changes faster than a policy document does, and a list frozen at publication would be wrong within months. The consolidated lists linked from the regimes above are authoritative.
  • Restricted services: EU law restricts the supply of certain software and business services to the Russian Government and to legal persons established in Russia (Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014, Article 5n). Where those restrictions reach the Service, we will not supply it.
  • What we will do: We may suspend, block, or terminate your account, your codes, and your links immediately and without notice where we judge it necessary to comply with sanctions or export-control law, and we are not liable to you for having done so. Where the law requires funds to be frozen rather than returned, we will freeze them.
  • What we can and cannot see: Screening of payers against sanctions lists happens at our payment processor. On our side we hold your account details and coarse signals such as the IP address a request arrives from and the country the edge derives from it — enough to act on what we learn, not enough to identify everyone involved. A QR code can be scanned by anyone, without an account, and we do not identify scanners. The obligations in this Section therefore rest on you as the account holder, for your own use of the Service and for the destinations you publish.

5. Blockchain Anchoring and Immutability

  • On-Chain Transactions: Purchasing the Eternal tier and activating it on a QR code triggers a transaction on the Base L2 blockchain. A Dynamic upgrade on its own does not: it makes a destination editable, which is a change to our hosted routing, not to any on-chain record. Where a code is both Eternal and Dynamic, a destination change is re-anchored.
  • Immutability Disclaimer: You acknowledge and agree that transactions written to the Base L2 blockchain are public and completely immutable. The Company cannot delete, modify, or revoke records that have been anchored to the blockchain. Re-anchoring a destination writes a new transaction; the earlier encrypted value remains in the chain's transaction history permanently, as does the record of when each write happened. Deleting your account removes your data from our systems but cannot remove an anchored record — see the Right to Erasure section of our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for any issues arising from blockchain network congestion, forks, failures, or errors in the underlying Base L2 blockchain protocols.
  • Gas Fees: The cost of the gas fee for on-chain anchoring is included in the price of the Eternal tier; there is no separate or later charge for it. Anchoring transactions are signed and paid by the Company's own relayer wallet; you never hold, fund, or sign anything on-chain.
  • Not a Crypto Business: EQR does not sell, exchange, custody or transfer cryptocurrency and does not issue tokens or NFTs. Blockchain is used solely as an immutable, encrypted storage and verification layer. You pay in euro by card through our payment processor; any account balance held with us is a euro balance, not a crypto wallet, and your recovery key decrypts your own data — it is not a blockchain private key and gives access to no crypto-asset.

6. Fees, Billing, and Balance Top-Ups

6.1. What is one-time and what recurs

  • One-time: the Eternal tier, the Dynamic upgrade, and the one-time feature add-ons (password protection, custom slug, device routing, geo routing). You pay once and the entitlement is yours; there is no recurring charge for them, ever.
  • Recurring: only the named monthly add-ons — advanced analytics, retargeting pixel, scan alerts, link health check, UTM tracking, lead capture, webhooks, file hosting, custom domain, bulk generation, team seats, API access — and the bundles that combine them. Each is billed monthly until you cancel it. You cancel it yourself, at any time, from Billing → Monthly add-ons in your dashboard: that stops the next renewal and leaves the month you have already paid for running to its end, without a pro-rata refund of the days you do not use. Cancelling is not the same thing as withdrawing: an add-on you have only just started can be withdrawn from within 14 days, and then the fee comes back in full — §3.2 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Prices and billing periods are shown in the store and in your billing dashboard. The Refund & Cancellation Policy, §2, is the same rule written out at length.
  • Currency: top-ups and prices are denominated in EUR.
  • The price you see is the price you pay. Whatever amount checkout displays is the total amount we charge. We add nothing to it there — no separate tax line, no service fee, no surcharge of ours. If your card is not a euro card, our payment processor may offer you the price converted into your own currency at its own rate; the converted figure is then the one checkout displays, and it is still the whole of what you are charged. Your card issuer may add a cross-border or conversion fee of its own on top of that — that one is between you and your issuer, and we never see it.

6.2. Account balance and top-ups

  • You may top up your account balance to make purchases within the Service.
  • The minimum top-up is €5.00 per transaction; the maximum is €150.00 per transaction.
  • The funded part of your account balance is capped at €150.00. A top-up that would take it past that cap is declined before payment. Where two top-ups are paid so close together that neither check could see the other, the one that would cross the cap is not credited and is refunded to your card in full — see §4 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Bonus credit does not count toward the cap.
  • What the balance can buy: items priced under €5.00 each. Anything costing €5.00 or more — today the Eternal tier is the only one-time item priced that high — is billed to your card directly at checkout and cannot be paid from your balance. Everything else on the one-time list, the Dynamic upgrade included, is priced under €5.00 and can be paid either way: from your balance, or by card if your balance is short. That threshold is enforced on our server, not only in the interface, so the balance cap is never a limit on what you can buy: it is a limit on how much prepaid money we hold for you.
  • The balance is closed-loop: it can be spent only on EQR services, cannot be transferred to another account, and has no cash value — it cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash. It is not electronic money and not a payment account.
  • Consumption: balance is consumed when you perform a one-time action (upgrading a code, buying an add-on). Once consumed, the action has been performed and cannot be un-performed. That is a statement about the action, not about your money: it does not end your 14-day withdrawal right, which §3.1 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy explains survives activation.
  • Withdrawing from a top-up: if you are a consumer, you may withdraw from a top-up within 14 days and we return the part of your funded balance you have not yet spent. Having spent some of it does not cost you the rest. §3.3 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy works the arithmetic through.

6.3. Top-up Bonus Programme

Available to all registered EQR users eligible to purchase account balance; it has no scheduled end date. Paid and bonus credits form a single EQR account balance and may be used only to purchase EQR services. Bonus credits do not expire, are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash. If a top-up is refunded — in whole, or in part under §3.3 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy — we return money only, never bonus credit, and the bonus credits granted with that top-up are removed to the extent they are still in your balance. The funded part of the balance is capped at €150.00; bonus credits sit on top of that cap.

Bonus credit is a credit, not a discount: VAT is accounted for when the balance is spent, not when the bonus is granted.

6.4. Digital fulfilment

Digital purchases are activated immediately after Stripe confirms successful payment, through our server-side webhook — not through a browser redirect, so a dropped connection after payment does not cost you the purchase. Your entitlement (for example an Eternal anchor slot) is added to your account at that moment and is usable right away.

When you activate an Eternal code, the on-chain record is written asynchronously: the code shows Pending until the Base transaction is Confirmed, at which point the permanent on-chain record and recovery-key export are fully available. The code works throughout; only the on-chain confirmation is pending. If an anchoring transaction fails — network congestion, for example — we retry automatically. If it is still not confirmed 24 hours after activation, we restore the affected Eternal anchor slot to your account automatically — you do not have to ask for it, and you can put it on another code straight away — and we email you to say we have done it. If you would rather be refunded for that purchase than keep the restored slot, write to support@eqr.link within 30 days of that email and we will refund it instead of the slot, under §6.5; that window does not affect your statutory rights. Basic codes are active immediately and have no on-chain step.

The record you get of a purchase. Today that is what your billing dashboard holds: a Transaction history listing every top-up and every purchase paid from your balance, with its date, description and amount, and a Monthly add-ons list showing each add-on's price and the date it next bills. A one-time item paid by card does not yet get a priced line of its own in that history — for those, the record you hold yourself is Stripe's own receipt for the card payment, where Stripe sends one. We do not send an order-confirmation email, and we would rather write that down than publish a clause claiming a message we never send. Article 8(7) of Directive 2011/83/EU has in mind a confirmation you hold yourself rather than one you have to log in to read; closing that gap is on our list, and until it is closed this paragraph is what is true.

6.5. Billing disputes and chargebacks

Please raise billing problems with us first. It is faster than a bank dispute and we can usually fix the cause, not just the charge.

  • Write to support@eqr.link. We acknowledge within 5 business days.
  • We resolve verified billing errors within 15 business days, extendable to 35 business days in complex cases, in which case we tell you why and when to expect an answer (PSD2, Directive (EU) 2015/2366, Art. 101).
  • A verified duplicate or mistaken charge is reversed in full.
  • Approved refunds go to the original payment method. Funds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank — that timing is the bank's and the card network's, not ours.
  • If an Eternal code never confirms on-chain, §6.4 applies.
  • If you open a card dispute, we may present evidence of delivery: the payment timestamp, when the entitlement was activated, when it was first used, the anchoring status and transaction hash, the version of these Terms our systems recorded as in force at the moment of your purchase, and — where our systems recorded it — the network address the order was placed from. We keep those records for exactly this purpose. That version record proves which text we had published and in force when you bought. It does not prove that you read it or that you clicked anything, and we never describe it to a bank as your acceptance of these Terms.

6.6. Stripe processing

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout page and are never received or stored by us. You agree to provide accurate billing details and authorize Stripe to charge your designated payment method.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE BASE L2 BLOCKCHAIN NETWORK WILL BE CONTINUOUSLY OPERATIONAL.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

  1. YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
  2. ANY ACTIONS TAKEN BY THE COMPANY TO SUSPEND OR BLOCK MALICIOUS REDIRECTS.
  3. THE PERMANENT OR IMMUTABLE NATURE OF DATA ANCHORED TO THE BASE L2 BLOCKCHAIN.
  4. ANY ACCIDENT, LOSS, OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM SCANNERS ACCESSING THIRD-PARTY SITES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF €50.00 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO THE COMPANY IN THE PAST 6 months.

If you are a consumer, neither the exclusions above nor that cap applies to you in any of three cases, and we say so in ordinary type because it is the part of this section you are most likely to need:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • our intent or gross negligence — Greek law (Civil Code Art. 332) does not permit us to disclaim liability for either of those in advance, and a clause that appeared to do so would simply be void;
  • any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law, including your rights over defective digital content and services.

In those cases you are entitled to whatever the law gives you, with no ceiling that we have set. Outside those three cases the cap stands for business customers — with one exception that is not ours to grant: Article 332 is a rule of public policy, so our own intent and gross negligence cannot be capped or excluded in advance against a business customer either.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FOR FRAUD, OR UNDER MANDATORY CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW. IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER IN THE EU OR EEA, YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS ARE UNAFFECTED.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If you are a business customer, any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms is to be brought exclusively in the courts located in Athens, Greece.

If you are a consumer, that exclusive forum does not apply to you. You may bring proceedings against us either in the courts of Athens, Greece or in the courts of the country where you live, whichever suits you, and we may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country where you live (Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012, Arts. 17–19). Nor does our choice of Greek law take away from you the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live (Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, Art. 6): where those rules give you more than Greek law does, those rules win. We write it this way round because a forum clause agreed before any dispute exists would not bind you anyway — better to say so than to print something unenforceable and hope you never test it.
